After the dust settled on candidate qualifying on Friday, one thing became clear: some Democrats in leadership positions in Gwinnett County do not have the united support of everyone in their own party.
Five Democrats who hold county offices will face challenges from fellow Democrats in the May 21 primary election. These include County Commission Chairwoman Nicole Love Hendrickson, Sheriff Keybo Taylor, District Attorney Patsy Austin-Gatson, District 3 Commissioner Jasper Watkins and Tax Commissioner Denise Mitchell.
