Clayton County is holding Trash Amnesty Day on different dates and sites but recently had to reschedule some dates because of inclement weather.
The remaining upcoming dates include:
District 1, 3199 Anvil Block Road, Ellenwood 30294: Friday, April 21 from noon to 6 p.m. and Saturday, April 22 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
District 2, 6131 Riverdale Road, Riverdale 30274: Friday, April 21 from noon to 6 p.m. and Saturday, April 22 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
All districts, Clayton County Landfill 11678 Hastings Bridge Road, Hampton 30228: Friday, April 21 from noon to 6 p.m. and Saturday, April 22 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The landfill will accept waste free during all amnesty days and it’s for Clayton County residents only.
Residents will enter through the main entrance at each site location to receive direction on how and where to unload their vehicles.
Residents are responsible for unloading their own vehicles at the district locations. Residents will have help, if needed, at the landfill.
Clayton County residents must have a current motor vehicle tag registration. If not, the resident must show a Clayton County driver’s license if the vehicle isn’t registered in Clayton County. A current property tax or utility bill showing the driver’s name and address will be accepted.
The following items will not be accepted — no materials containing asbestos, no hazardous waste, no flammable materials or empty containers that say flammable materials, no car batteries or rechargeable batteries, no tube TVs, no liquids of any kind, no medical waste, and no tires.
