The Gist: A woman tragically lost her life early this morning at the Retreat Village Shopping Plaza on Saint Simons Island, following a reported shooting.
The Glynn County Police Department, called to the scene after the shots were fired, discovered the victim in the parking lot.
What Happened?: Law enforcement officers found an adult female with a gunshot wound to her upper body. Despite the efforts of the Glynn County Fire Rescue to provide life-saving care, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The Coroner’s Office has taken charge of the body, which is being transported to a forensic lab for an autopsy.
