ATHENS – A Pennsylvania resident convicted of federal charges resulting from the lengthy investigation into the shooting death of an Oconee County man was sentenced to the statutory maximum of 30 years in prison for his crimes in federal court.
Ahkil Nasir Crumpton, aka “Crump,” 26, of Philadelphia was sentenced to the statutory maximum of 240 months in prison for interference with commerce by attempted robbery and 120 months in prison for false statement during the purchase of a firearm for a total of 360 months in prison to be followed by three years of supervised release by U.S. District Judge Tilman “Tripp” Self III. Crumpton was found guilty by a federal jury on all counts on Oct. 25, 2023. The defendant is not eligible for parole. Crumpton is facing state charges for murder and other offenses in Georgia.
