After nearly three decades on the Gwinnett County Board of Education, board member Mary Kay Murphy has officially announced that she will retire when her current term ends a year from now.
Murphy, who was first elected to the county’s school board in 1996, confirmed her decision to not seek re-election in 2024 during an interview with the Daily Post on Wednesday. She is currently in her seventh term in office.
