LAKE CITY — Two brothers are in the Clayton County Jail after being arrested Wednesday, Feb. 14 in connection to a fatal shooting in Lake City.
According to Clayton County Jail records, Jaquavise Woodard, 18, of 1885 Harper Drive, Apt. 10, Morrow, is charged with murder, possession of a weapon during a crime and reckless conduct.
Jacquez Woodard, 24, also of 1885 Harper Drive, Apt. 10, Morrow, is charged with murder.
According to Clayton County Court records, both were scheduled for first appearance hearings Friday, Feb. 16 in Clayton County Magistrate Court.
According to media reports, the Lake City Police Department responded to a person shot call at about 9 p.m. on Feb. 14 at the Flats at 1885 apartment complex.
It was reported that officers found a gunshot victim, 44, in the parking lot. Officers and emergency personnel rendered aid but the victim died.
According to preliminary information, it was reported that the victim had an altercation with the Woodard brothers and that led to the fatal shooting.
