FOREST PARK — A routine traffic stop in the early hours of Thanksgiving led to a man being arrested for possession of more than four pounds of marijuana, the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office said.
According to a Nov. 23 Nixle alert, members of the CCSO’s Elite Blackhawk Traffic Unit conducted a traffic stop at Old Dixie and Frontage roads. During the stop, deputies smelled an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.
Deputies then arrested Antonio Bernard Sinkfield III, 22, of 1903 Summercourt Drive, Jonesboro.
According to Clayton County Jail records, as of Nov. 23, Sinfield faces a charge of Violation of the Georgia Controlled Substances Act.
According to Clayton County Court records, Sinkfield had a first appearance hearing Thanksgiving morning in Clayton County Magistrate Court.
Deputies conducted a search and found 4.2 pounds of marijuana, along with a firearm.
