Swinerton, a leading general contractor with offices across the country, announces its selection as one of the City of Atlanta’s Managing General Contractor (MGC) On Call providers. In partnership with Atlanta-based WEBMyers Construction, a woman- and minority-owned general construction company, Swinerton is now one of the city’s preferred contractor and construction vendors at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) for upgrades, repairs and renovation projects.
“Chosen to be part of Atlanta’s MGC On Call program is not only a great honor, but also another expansion of our aviation portfolio beyond the airlines and the Atlanta Airlines Terminal company (AATC),” explains Derek Mosiman, vice president, division manager, Swinerton Atlanta. “We tackle every project as a partner. That’s why aviation professionals have called upon our team time and time again since 2017. Our detailed, realistic schedules and onsite oversight enable us to deliver within an extremely complicated, virtually nonstop operating environment within top-level safety and security protocols.” Swinerton has been awarded similar contracts at other major airports in other US cities including Denver (DEN), Los Angeles (LAX), San Diego (SAN) and San Francisco (SFO).
As one of only four chosen for the City’s MGC On Call program, the Swinerton/WEBMyers joint venture partnership is pre-approved to facilitate construction projects at the world’s busiest airport. The program eliminates the bidding process for both landside and airside construction projects with a $10 million cap per project. The three-year contract includes an option for a two-year extension.
