FOREST PARK — The suspect in a shooting spree Friday morning in Forest Park was caught later that evening in Cobb County.
Victor Demetrious Baymon, 33, who was captured by authorities on Richard Sailors Parkway in Powder Springs Friday evening, had earlier in the day shot three victims in Forest Park, killing one.
The shootings began at about 10:30 a.m. at a tax-preparing business on West Street near Forest Parkway, Forest Park Police Chief Brandon Cross said in a press conference Friday.
Criss said Baymon followed his ex-girlfriend to the business, where she was getting her taxes done.
Baymon allegedly shot the woman and the person who was preparing the taxes.
Forest Park police responded to the scene at about 13:35 a.m. and found the two victims inside the business.
While the officers were helping the victims, it was discovered that Baymon carjacked a man and fled in the stolen car to an apartment complex about a block away.
He then crashed the vehicle into an apartment building and robbed a woman of her vehicle.
He drove to the 4300 block of Jonesboro Road and shot a man who was working on a home.
“From what we can tell, there was no reason at all,” Criss said of the Jonesboro Road shooting.
All victims were transported to local hospitals, where one of them died, Criss said.
According to Clayton County Court records, Baymon had several warrants taken out on him Friday — including murder, aggravated assault, armed robbery, and hijacking a motor vehicle.
City of Forest Park buildings and schools were placed on lockdown after the shootings. Forest Park City Hall is within a block of the first shooting and there are schools nearby as well.
Baymon had previously been arrested in April of 2017 in connection to the murder of Priscilla Colbert, 27, in Stockbridge.
According to reporting by WSB-TV, Baymon faced multiple charges in the 2017 case…
