JONESBORO — A Jonesboro man was recently ordered to seven consecutive life sentences without the possibility of parole for a series of violent rapes and assaults.
The Clayton County District Attorney’s Office said Kenneth Thomas Bowen III, 27, of 7702 Tara Road, Jonesboro, pleaded guilty on Oct. 2 to a total of 65 counts — including rape, aggravated sodomy, kidnapping, and armed robbery.
Bowen was then sentenced by Clayton County Superior Court Judge Aaron B. Mason.
The Clayton DA’s Office said Bowen targeted 11 women in Clayton County, all of which lived within a two-mile radius of his home.
Bowen often targeted women who lived alone with their children. He was known to break into the victims’ home armed with a knife or a gun and threaten to kill the women and their children if they didn’t comply with his demands, the DA’s Office said.
The sexual assaults were violent and victims were left with serious physical injuries.
The DA’s Office said DNA evidence was used to link Bowen to the assaults.
Bowen was arrested in August of 2019 by the Clayton County Police Department.
