JONESBORO — A special election will be held on March 21 to give Clayton County residents the opportunity to select a new sheriff.
The winner will serve out the remainder former sheriff Victor Hill’s term through Dec. 31, 2024.
Qualifying for the special election will be held at the Clayton County Board of Registration and Elections temporary location at 1285 Government Circle in Jonesboro on Jan. 23-Jan. 26 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Jan. 27 from 9 a.m. to noon.
If not already registered, residents have until Feb. 21 to do so at county library branches and city halls throughout Clayton.
If needed, a runoff election will be held April 18.
