PXG Atlanta held a Fashion Masterclass for students of Savannah College of Art and Design’s (SCAD) Fashion Program. Led by Lindsay Weart, SVP of Apparel, Product and Design at PXG, the Masterclass provided students with an inside look at a career in fashion.
In addition to her impressive 15-year career, Weart holds a master’s degree in Fashion Management and Merchandising from Polimoda, an International School of Fashion Merchandising and Design.
“Looking back on my time in college, I am forever grateful for my conversations with those who had real-world fashion experience. Their industry knowledge and thoughtful advice shaped my path as a young professional,” shares Weart, who visited the Atlanta store from PXG’s home office in Scottsdale, Arizona. “I am hopeful my lesson resonated with the students and provided them with helpful insight as they transition from the classroom to a professional career in the industry.”
Students participating in the Masterclass were from Professor Yasha Morehouse’s Pattern Development course. Every year, SCAD hosts a variety of style authorities providing their expertise to SCAD students. Students have unprecedented access to innovative fashion influencers, from workshops and panel discussions to masterclasses and one-on-one assessments.
“SCAD students are poised to shape the fashion landscape thanks to mentorship from influential fashion insiders such as Lindsay and expert faculty who’ve worked with top houses and brands,” shares Professor Morehouse. “We are so grateful for Lindsay’s time. Her expertise and practical lessons will be impactful for my students as they seek careers in the fashion industry.”
