Festivities are planned this week for the newest Swanton Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame inductees.
On Friday, Swanton High School be hosting the Distinguished Alumni Class of 2022 induction ceremony. This year’s inductees are Ben Gombash and Linda (Novak) Chambers.
A luncheon is planned in the high school media center, followed by a tour of Swanton High School for the inductees. They will then speak with the entire student body.
Gombash, a 2007 Swanton graduate, has earned multiple degrees and has done extensive research and data collection on primate behavior and the rehabilitation of primates. He plans to earn his PhD at Notre Dame this year.
Gombash has presented in Indonesia on “Aggressive Interactions between Tourists and Long-tailed Macaques in the Ubud Monkey Forest.” He has worked as an interim coordinator and site manager for the Alouatta Sanctuary dealing with various types of primates.
