JONESBORO — Clayton County Public Schools will host its annual Marching Band Exhibition Tuesday, Oct. 24 at 6 p.m. at Tara Stadium, 1055 Battle Creek Road, Jonesboro.
The event will feature performances from nine CCPS high schools with HBCU-style marching band programs (Drew, Forest Park, Jonesboro, Lovejoy Morrow, Mt. Zion, Mundy’s Mill, North Clayton, and Riverdale).
The Valdosta High School Marching Band will appear as a guest band while the Tennessee State University Aristocrat of Bands will be the event’s special guest collegiate band.
“The Exhibition provides an atmosphere for Clayton County and the music education community to enjoy and celebrate the collective talents of our students as they have worked so hard to achieve mastery in their musical and visual presentations,” a statement from CCPS read.
As part of the event, each band will receive constructive feedback from a six-person adjudication panel consisting of four middle and high school directors, a percussion expert, and an auxiliary expert.
