JONESBORO — The Jonesboro High School Mock Trial recently earned its 23rd straight trip to the Georgia State Mock Trial Championship.
Jonesboro is the defending state Mock Trial Champion.
The varsity team earned its latest state bid in a home competition and went undefeated against Decatur, Galloway and the Weber School.
The state competition is scheduled March 22 to 24 in Lawrenceville.
Individual awards went to Joi Googer, Judah Whaley, and Anna Davis.
The junior varsity team recently competed in Athens and while the team didn’t qualifying for state, Jaylyn Olujobi, Aidan Brooks, and William Cox won individual awards.
Coaches for the Mock Trial program are Taylah Cash (an alumna of Jonesboro Mock Trial), Andrew Cox, Anna Cox, Suwana Janvier and Amirah Williams.
