JONESBORO — The Clayton County Sheriff’s Office said a murder suspect wanted in a Friday shooting in the city of Jonesboro was arrested later that evening.
According to a CCSO Nixle alert, Contrez Tanaz Price, 22, of 790 Dixon Road, Jonesboro, was arrested Friday evening at the Hunter Ridge mobile home park, 696 Tara Road, Jonesboro.
The CCSO said the shooting happened at around noon in the city of Jonesboro.
Immediately after the shooting, Jonesboro Police Chief Chris Cato, Clayton County Kevin Roberts, and Clayton County Sheriff Levon Allen deployed units to look for Price, the CCSO said.
According to Clayton County Jail records, Price faces aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and possession of a firearm/weapon during the commission of a crime charges.
Clayton County Court records showed Price was scheduled for a first appearance hearing Saturday, Feb. 17 in Clayton County Magistrate Court.
