The Second Annual Higher Celebration is schedule Saturday, July 8 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Flint River Community Center, 153 Flint River Road, Riverdale.
The Higher Foundation promotes post-secondary education by providing financial assistance to Georgia college students.
Proceeds from the event will help Georgia college students for the 2023-2024 academic year.
There will be a dinner, dinner, desert, live entertainment, an art auction, and more.
The keynote speaker is Ashley Young, Education Analyst, of Georgia Budget & Policy Institute.
“It is important to seek opportunities to help ensure post-secondary education is more attainable, especially for those who would not otherwise be able to afford college,” said Clayton County Board of Commissioners Vice-Chair Commissioner Felicia Franklin. “Working in partnership with the Higher Foundation, we aim to increase the number of college graduates who earn a bachelor’s degree or higher with needs-based grants, merit-based scholarships, and The Go Higher Program.”
