JONESBORO — A preliminary hearing is scheduled Oct. 25 in Clayton County Magistrate Court for a man who was arrested Sept. 26 after firing shots and barricading himself in a residence.
According to Clayton County Jail records, Percell Gatonio Clay, 38, of 9485 Briar Creek Lane, Jonesboro, faces the following charges — aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, reckless conduct, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm/weapon during a crime, criminal trespass, and simple battery.
According to the Clayton County Police Department, officers were called to the 9500th block of Briar Creek Lane about an armed man walking in the road firing shots.
The Clayton County SWAT team was activated to the scene and the suspect barricaded himself in a residence.
At about 10:49 p.m., the SWAT breached the front door and with the help of CCPD negotiators, Clay was taken into custody without incident.
