Dr. Marion Ross Fedrick, President of Albany State University, has been appointed Executive Vice President for Administration and Chief of Staff. She will also serve as a Senior Advisor to University System of Georgia Chancellor Sonny Perdue on Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) Initiatives, effective July 1.
“I am delighted that Marion will be joining us at Georgia State on the senior administrative team, as she brings a wealth of experience and expertise that have contributed to the success of academic institutions and organizations within the public and private sector,” said Georgia State President M. Brian Blake. “Marion’s profound impact as a successful president will be instrumental to the enhancement of Georgia State’s administrative operations.”
As Executive Vice President, Dr. Fedrick will support the President in the management of key university-wide operations and initiatives, delegated oversight of key offices, advising on policy, procedures, operational issues and best practices, and in advance of key meetings, gathering and synthesizing key information, and managing special projects and operational evaluations to completion. Dr. Fedrick will serve as a member of the President’s Cabinet and as a senior leader poised to partner and further the success of the institution.
Dr. Fedrick was appointed as the 10th President of Albany State University on Aug. 14, 2018, by the University System of Georgia Board of Regents. Prior to Albany State, Dr. Fedrick served as the Vice Chancellor of Human Resources for the University System of Georgia.
Dr. Fedrick is an experienced and capable leader whose career spans more than 30 years in the public and private sectors.
