FOREST PARK — The GBI is investigating an officer-involved shooting in Forest Park.
According to the City of Forest Park, on Monday, Sept. 11 at about 12:20 p.m., Forest Park Police officers were called to respond to an accident with injuries. While en route, officers were flagged down regarding a person being armed near the 3800 block of Jonesboro Road.
After arriving on the scene, officers attempted to make contact with the suspect, at which time the suspect began to discharge their weapon. Officers returned fire, eventually striking the suspect.
Aid was immediately rendered to the suspect, who was then transported to Grady Memorial Hospital.
One officer was transported to Southern Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.
