FOREST PARK — Do you know a female youth interested in exploring a future career in fire service?
If so, the Forest Park Fire and Emergency Services Department is hosting a free one-day camp for Clayton County girls ages 12 to 17 who want to learn the ins and outs of what it takes to become a certified firefighter.
The camp is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 11 at the Gillem Public Safety Building at 2090 Anvil Block Road and led by several female fire professionals who have achieved success in the field.
Topics to be covered include fire service history, fire behavior, fire extinguishers, CPR, physical fitness, first aid, and teamwork.
Slots for the camp are limited and participants will be selected on a first-come, first-served basis.
All applications for the camp must be submitted to Chief Latosha Clemons via email at [email protected] by 5 p.m., Friday, Sept. 15. To access the application, visit www.forestparkga.gov/fire and click on the “Girls’ Future Firefighter Camp” tab on the left-hand side of the webpage.
