FOREST PARK — Because inclement weather was expected Dec. 2, Forest Park’s annual Holiday Extravaganza has been rescheduled for Saturday, Dec. 9 at 5 p.m.
In partnership with Women of Clayton County, the one-day free event will feature the city’s downtown parade off Main Street and the official lighting of the Christmas tree at Starr Park.
The event also features photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus, live performances, and other family-friendly activities.
The parade starts at 5 p.m. at 1000 Main St. and ends at the intersection of Lake Drive and Hines Ward Pass.
Festivities will conclude at the Starr Park Amphitheater.
The following road closures are expected in advance of the festivities — intersection of Main Street and Phillips Drive, intersection of Main Street and Ash Street (Main Street Fountain), and intersection of Lake Drive and Forest Parkway
