After investigation in late December, the Clayton County Police Department arrested eight suspects on several drug and gun charges.
According to Jan. 3 statement from the CCPD, officers responded to the 1600th block of Yukon Court in north Clayton on Wednesday, Dec. 27 in reference to a large amount of illegal narcotics.
The narcotics were discovered during a uniform patrol investigation.
The following evidence was seized during the investigation — MDMD pills, oxycodone pills, a Glock 26 handgun, a Glock 19 handgun, a Taurus handgun, 9mm ammunition, four digital scales, a bottle of promethazine with codeine, 977 grams of marijuana, 151 grams of psilocybin, an unknown amount of U.S. currency, a rolled marijuana joint, and one vehicle was impounded.
Eight suspects were arrested and charged with possession of drug-related objects, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a Schedule 1 narcotic, possession of a Schedule 2 narcotic, and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
