RIVERDALE — The Clayton County Police Department arrested a man Wednesday afternoon after he ran a stop sign and hit the front porch of a mobile home Wednesday, May 10.
According to the Clayton County Police Department, Raymundo Martinez, 32, has been charged with failure to maintain lane, stop sign violation, and open container. Additional charges may be forthcoming as the investigation continues, police said.
Martinez was transported to a local hospital to treat his injuries.
On May 10 at 2:11 p.m., Clayton County Police officers responded to a call to the 10th block of Ivy Lane, Riverdale, in reference a vehicle that drove into a mobile home.
During the preliminary investigation, officers found the driver appearing to be heavily intoxicated, the CCPD said in a press release.
The investigation also revealed that the driver ran a stop sign and hit the front porch of the mobile home.
When the SUV hit the porch, the porch was completely dislodged from the mobile home, and the vehicle came to a rest underneath the home.
Clayton County Fire and Emergency Services responded and determined that the home is uninhabitable.
Clayton County Fire and Emergency Services is currently working with the American Red Cross to help the family that has been displaced.
