MORROW — A domestic violence suspect and his girlfriend were scheduled for first appearance hearings Monday after being arrested Sunday after a standoff with police.
According to Clayton County Court records, Tyshaun T. Singletary and Denae Jones were scheduled for first appearance hearings Monday at 11 a.m. in Clayton County Magistrate Court.
According to Clayton County Jail records, Singletary, 28, of 7922 Abington Drive, Riverdale, is charged with simple assault/family violence and battery-family violence.
Denae Jones, 36, of 6668 Mt. Zion Blvd., Apt. B-14, Morrow, is in the Clayton County Jail on hindering the apprehension of a criminal and obstructing an officer charges.
At 11:12 a.m. Sunday, the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office sent out a Nixle alert warning individuals to avoid the 6668 Mt. Zion Blvd. area (Village at Panther Creek Apartments).
The CCSO said Singletary barricaded himself in an apartment after being charged with domestic and family violence charges when he assaulted a woman.
The CCSO Elite Panther Unit responded to the location, the CCSO said.
In a second alert sent at 2:47 p.m. Sunday, the CCSO said Singletary was safety taken into custody and Jones, his girlfriend, was also arrested.
“Clayton County is not a ‘safe haven’ for criminals,” the CCSO said in the alert. “We will find you and take all of your supporters with you. Don’t mess around and find out, like Denae Jones did today and mess up your life some someone else.”
