As one always hopes to do in Vegas, Clayton State’s Dean of Libraries Sonya S. Gaither didn’t leave it empty-handed.
Gaither recently celebrated her fifth anniversary in her role at Clayton State University as dean of libraries at the Education 2.0 Conference, whose mission is “to bring the global education community of changemakers together to facilitate knowledge sharing and to look for solutions to issues faced in education today for future planning.”
While present at the conference in Las Vegas, Gaither was honored as one of 50 recipients of the 2024 Education 2.0 Outstanding Leadership Award.
“I’ve been in the University System of Georgia for 29 years, and this is a celebration of all the work I’ve been able to accomplish as an academic librarian, professor, and administrator,” Gaither said. “I am grateful to my colleagues at Clayton State, the USG, and worldwide that saw fit to recognize how hard I have worked to ensure students are successful as they progress through their academic journeys. This is truly a prestigious and humbling award.”
