MORROW — For the fifth time in university history, Clayton State signed an articulation agreement with Central Georgia Technical College for legal and paralegal studies.
According to Professor Antoinette France-Harris, Clayton State’s Legal Studies program coordinator, the agreements that were signed Feb. 7 are designed to ease the transition and minimize loss of credit and course duplication for transferring students who have received their A.A.S. in paralegal studies and are now seeking their B.S. in legal studies at Clayton State.
“Most students who pursue their B.S. in legal studies are either interested in becoming paralegals or attending law school after graduation,” she said. “The Legal Studies Program is particularly attractive because all program options can be completed fully online.”
France-Harris said the university’s ABA-approved B.S. in Legal Studies program is one of “high quality,” while further highlighting both its affordability and its availability as the only public option in Georgia.
“While this is not the first time Clayton State has established such agreements with our friends in the technical college system, we are still excited at the prospect that our partnerships will further enhance the expansive education of the next generation of Georgians,” said Clayton State President Georj L. Lewis.
Central Georgia Tech Vice President of Academic Affairs DeAnn Nester said the agreement will expand opportunities for CGTC students and enhance their academic success,
“All of this is made possible through seamless transferability, curriculum alignment, and enhanced pathways of progression toward degrees our students,” she said.
