MORROW — The Clayton County Water Authority’s Finance Department recently earned the Government Finance Officers Association Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting and its Distinguished Budget Presentation Award.
GFOA’s Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting was awarded for CCWA’s Annual Comprehensive Financial Report for fiscal year ended April 30, 2022.
“The report has been judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive ‘spirit of full disclosure’ to clearly communicate its financial story,” the GFOA stated.
This is the 36th year CCWA has earned this certificate.
CCWA also earned its 16th GFOA Distinguished Budget Award for its annual budget for fiscal year beginning May 1, 2023.
According to GFOA, this is the highest form of recognition in governmental budgeting.
In order to receive the budget award, CCWA had to satisfy nationally recognized guidelines designed to assess how well an entity’s budget serve as:
— A communications device.
In addition to receiving the award, CCWA received special recognition for Special Long Range Financial Plans.
