JONESBORO — Two Clayton County Sheriff’s Office contractor employees were arrested May 31 as part of “Operation Clean House” — an ongoing investigation of CCSO employees.
According to the CCSO, contractor employees Iyana Niara Dixon and Sarai Tatiana Ali were arrested in separate incidents.
According to court records, both are scheduled for preliminary hearings June 26 in Magistrate Court.
Dixon, 33, 8642 Oxford Circle Plumtree Drive, Riverdale, was arrested for financial transaction fraud and theft by taking.
Dixon committed financial card transaction and theft by taking when she used the victim’s credit card on five separate times without the consent of the card holder, the CCSO said.
She was observed using the stolen credit card in Macy’s store, according to the CCSO.
“Dixon used her position within the Sheriff’s Office to steal from inmates,” the Sheriff’s Office stated in a Nixle alert.
According to Clayton County Jail records, Sarai Tatiana Ali, 27, of 8050 Taylor Road, Apt. 406, Riverdale, was arresedt May 31 by the Jonesboro Police Department. She is charged with obstructing or hindering law enforcement officers and party to commission of a crime.
According to the Clayton County’s Sheriff’s Office, she “aided and abetted wanted persons and shared confidential information which led to her encouraging her crew to steal from inmates.”
The CCSO didn’t specify what roles Dixon or Ali had in the Sheriff’s Office.
It was the fifth time in a week that CCSO employees have been arrested.
On May 26, corrections officer Tabitha S. Clifton and jail nurse Jessica Castellanos were arrested for giving contraband to inmates. On May 25, corrections officer Sean William Hollinshead was arrested for planning and orchestrating a “vicious attack” on an inmate.
