JONESBORO — On Oct. 5, Clayton County Public Schools announced bonuses for employees — including part-time employees, bus drivers and monitors, and custodians.
“Our educators and support personnel are the heart and soul of Clayton County Public Schools. This incentive update is a testament to our deep appreciation for their dedication, especially as rising costs of living impact our families daily,” said Superintendent Anthony Smith. “We remain committed to fostering a thriving educational community where the contributions of our staff are often celebrated and rewarded. Without question, our staff contributions to improving outcomes in our school system and community are paramount to our success.”
♦ All School-Based Staff: CCPS was to provide a $500 bonus on Friday, Oct. 6.
It was noted that CCPS bus drivers and bus monitors will also receive the $500 incentive during this pay period.
This incentive includes school-based employees who were hired on or before Friday, Sept. 1, 2023 and in active pay status on Oct. 1.
This incentive excludes district staff who are housed at schools for office space and who report to schools to provide support services, and it excludes contracted employees who are hired to provide supplemental or part-time services to schools.
♦ School-Based Part-Time Employees: CCPS will provide a $500 supplement, recognizing their continued service to our students.
The payment of $500 was to occur Friday, Oct. 6.
This includes employees who were hired on or before Friday, Sept. 1, 2023 and in active pay status on Oct.1.
♦ Custodians: CCPS will provide a one-time supplement of $1,000 that was approved in Gov. Brian Kemp’s 202324 school year educational budget.
This incentive was provided Thursday, Sept. 28.
This included employees who were active at the time of payment.
