JONESBORO — The Clayton County Office of Economic Development is seeking input on a new small business incubator to be located in the old Social Security office near Southlake Mall in Morrow.
The county recently bought the building for $3 million, with the facility to be renovated to serve as the new Clayton OED office and small business incubator.
“The Small Business Incubator will provide resources to introduce, connect, support, and expand new businesses in Clayton County to bolster the creation of jobs, investment, and economic development,” a statement on https://www.claytonsplost.com read.
Now that the building and property have been secured, local residents can participate in a survey “that will help shape the future of this incubator, ensuring it serves the needs and aspirations of our vibrant community and the local business landscape,” the Clayton County OED said in a statement.
A small business incubator was to be included in the failed $800 million Roman United luxury development project in Lake City.
In May, the Clayton County Board of Commissioners terminated its agreement with Jacques Roman for the $4 million business incubator.
