JONESBORO — The Toyota South, Honda South, and Kia South car dealerships are moving from their locations on Jonesboro Road to Mt. Zion Parkway.
During its regular meeting Tuesday, Nov. 21, the Clayton County Board of Commissioners approved several rezonings to allow for the relocations.
The new locations for the dealerships are on some 29 acres on Mt. Zion Parkway near Fielder Road, Lake Spivey Parkway (Ga. Highway 138), and I-75.
The rezonings that were approved include:
— An amendment to the Future Land Use Map for 2850 Mt. Zion Pkwy. and 3000 Mt. Zion Pkwy. from Mixed Use to General Commercial for a car dealership development.
— A rezoning from Mixed Use to General Business.
— A conditional use permit for automobile sales.
The following conditions are included in the permit — that the three existing car dealerships be relocated to 2850 and 3000 Mt. Zion Pkwy., an 8-foot sidewalk will be built, and street lamps will be installed.
— A conditional use permit for vehicle repair shops.
— A conditional use permit for a billboard.
