JONESBORO — In its regular meeting Tuesday, May 16, the Clayton County Board of Commissioners approved a rezoning for a townhome development on Mount Zion Road.
The property at 2891 Mount Zion Road will be rezoned from general business to multi-family residential.
The County Commission also approved to amend its future land use map category for the property, from mixed use to high density residential.
The County Commission also approved a rezoning and future land use map amendment for a townhome development at 2951 Lake Harbin Road, Morrow.
Both the Mount Zion and Lake Harbin rezonings come with several restrictions.
In other action during the May 16 meeting:
— Approved reclamation and resurfacing of streets for $2.41 million with the contract going to Atlanta Paving and Concrete Construction. The streets include Post Way and Glenwoods Drive.
— Approved an annual contract with Levonne Industries for painting and wall preparation.
— Approved a $153,483.70 contract with ProLogic ITS to buy Panasonic Toughbooks and mounting accessories.
— Approved a budget amendment to recognize interest earned and provide additional funding for the Flint River Community Center.
— Approved various remissions and refunds.
— Approved a Senior Services stipend request under a COVID-19 grant. There is $10,000 left in the grant money and will pay for stipends of $5,000 each for two employees.
— Approved a plan for the Alzheimer’s Services Center to use the J. Charley Griswell Center as a temporary emergency evacuation site.
— Approved a grant agreement amendment with the Atlanta Regional Commission to increase a reimbursement to Clayton Clayton from $689,403.23 to $708,149.14.
