JONESBORO — Clayton County Public Schools recently announced it was named a Michelle Obama When We All Vote initiative leading partner in 2023.
Out of more than 38 other districts and networks across the country, this recognition was based on the number of students and others who registered to vote through CCPS as well as the activities and voter registration drives hosted by CCPS high schools.
“This recognition is a testament to the dedication and civic engagement of our students and the entire CCPS community,” School Superintendent Anthony Smith said.
He added that the achievement reflects the school system’s efforts to instill a sense of responsibility and active citizenship in students.
“We are honored to be a part of such a vital initiative, and we will continue to encourage and empower our students to be active participants in the democratic process,” he said.
Founded by Michelle Obama in 2018, When We All Vote is a leading national, non-partisan initiative to increase voter registration and participation in the country.

In addition to Michelle Obama, its co-chairs include Stephen Curry, Selena Gomez, Tom Hanks, Jennifer Lopez, H.E.R., Janelle Monae, Shonda Rhimes, Kerry Washington and Lin-Manuel Miranda.
