BankSouth, a leading community bank headquartered at Lake Oconee in Greensboro, Georgia, has announced the appointment of Angie Lewis as Chief Banking Officer. Lewis brings a wealth of experience and leadership to the team having held progressively complex banking roles throughout her career including, President/CEO of Citizens First Bank, an independently chartered bank owned by Synovus in Rome, GA. She also continued to advance within Synovus taking on roles that included Group Executive of Community Banking and Enterprise Risk Management.
Lewis brings a multi-disciplinary background. She has earned designations as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), and Certified Enterprise Risk Professional (CERP). In addition, Lewis also serves on the Faculty of the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University, contributing to the development of future leaders in the banking industry.
