JONESBORO — An armed suspect is at-large after pulling a gun on Clayton County police officers, who then shot at him during a traffic stop.
According to the CCPD, on Wednesday at about 11:36 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop while out on patrol in the area of Upper Riverdale Road and Tara Boulevard.
Upon the suspect exiting the vehicle at officers’ request, he fled on foot.
During the foot pursuit, officers saw the suspect pull a handgun from his waistband. The officers subsequently fired at the suspect.
The suspect continued to evade officers on foot.
Police said no officers were injured during this incident and the suspect is still at large. A handgun was found on scene.
The investigation is ongoing and active, police said.
