MORROW — The Georgia Archives December Lunch and Learn program will feature The Atlanta History Center’s Veterans History Project.
The event is scheduled Dec. 8 from noon to 1 p.m. with Director of Oral History and Genealogy at Atlanta History Center Sue VerHoef as the speaker.
The Project collects, preserves, and shares oral histories of veterans who served during World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, the Persian Gulf War, the Global War on Terror, and civilians who supported them.
These personal stories allow future generations to hear directly from veterans and better appreciate the realities of war and the sacrifices made by those who serve in uniform.
The History Center is a founding partner in the Library of Congress Veterans History Project and has collected more than 800 interviews with the invaluable assistance of the Atlanta Vietnam Veterans Business Association and the Atlanta Branch of the Association for the Study of African American Life and History.
The Lunch and Learn presentation is free and no registration is required.
The Georgia Archives is at 5800 Jonesboro Road, Morrow.
