Gwinnett Chamber officials announced on Monday that its head of communications and marketing has received a promotion.
Lisa Sherman, who had been the vice president of marketing and communications since she was hired by the chamber in November 2021, has been promoted to senior vice president of marketing and communications. The promotion went into effect on Jan. 1.
“Lisa is a proven leader who continues to set high standards and cultivate teams that deliver with excellence,” Gwinnett Chamber President and CEO Nick Masino said. “We look forward to the future and what will be accomplished under her leadership.”
Sherman’s promotion comes as the chamber consolidates its marketing and branding efforts to implement a strategic communication plan for both the chamber and its economic development arm, Partnership Gwinnett. Since she arrived at the chamber more than a year ago, Sherman had worked with Partnership Gwinnett’s marketing team on the plan.
Sherman also worked on the chamber’s accreditation application, which led to the chamber receiving its first-ever 5-Star designation from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
“The Gwinnett Chamber has some of the most amazing and talented marketing, design, and communications professionals on its staff,” Sherman said. “It is an awesome responsibility and an incredible opportunity to be able to champion their success, and that of the organization, as we move ahead to implement some dynamic ideas for the future.”
