An estimated 58,000 people danced the weekend away to the sounds of Live, Crash Test Dummies, Lisa Loeb, Koyal, and Moon Taxi at the 2024 Brookhaven Cherry Blossom Festival.
The city described the festival as its “best year yet” in an Instagram post announcing the attendance record.
Barenaked Ladies capped off the event, one of the largest music festivals in Georgia, with a playful compilation of Miley Cyrus’ “Love You Better,” Harry Styles’ “As It Was,” A-ha’s “Take On Me,” and The Sound of Music’s “Climb Every Mountain.”
The parking lot was filled by 1:45 p.m. on Saturday. Despite some challenges on day one, the city responded with 22 additional port-a-potties and more frequent shuttles from MARTA on Sunday.
Festivities at Blackburn Park included an antique car show, pet zone with a performance by Dare Devil Dog, kids area, and an artists’ market.
The Brookhaven Cherry Blossom 5k, held on Sat., March 16, also had a record number of attendees. Officials estimated more than 500 runners at the Peachtree Road Race qualifying event.
