JONESBORO — In its meeting Aug. 1, the Clayton County Board of Commissioner unanimously approved an agreement with Hearthside Living Faith for a $3 million bond application to develop a senior living facility in the Old Dixie Road area.
The bond application is to the Georgia Department of Community Affairs for ARPA money to be used to build a high-rise, senior, multi-family development.
Hearthside previously applied to the DCA for $4 million but the DCA took points off that application.
The proposal is part of Hearthside’s community revitalization plan in the Old Dixie Road area. The church is at 5880 Old Dixie Highway, north of Morrow Road and south of Sylvia Lane.
In other action during the Aug. 1 meeting:
— The County Commission approved a contract with AT&T for voice and telecommunications services.
— The County Commission approved an annual $17,463.54 technology license contract with Comcate, Inc. for the Clayton County Corrections Department and Code Enforcement.
— The County Commission approved an annual contract for $657,441 with SHI International for Microsoft licensing.
— The County Commission approved the receipt of the Clayton County Board of Education’s final net millage rate.
— The County Commission approved a facility use request for Nourishing Hands, Inc. for the Lakeview Event Center on Oct. 28 for an appreciation dinner for foster parents.
