JONESBORO — Rep. Mike Glanton (D) of Jonesboro has resigned from the Georgia House of Representatives prompting a special election on March 21.
State House District 75 includes the communities of Jonesboro, Morrow, Lake Spivey, Flint River, Mundy’s Mill, Lovejoy, Riverdale and Point South. Glanton represented the 75th district from 2013-2023 and the 76th from 2007-2011.
Qualifying will be held on Feb. 1 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Feb. 2 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Feb. 3 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m at the Georgia Secretary of State’s Office in Atlanta. The cost is $400.
It’s currently unclear why Glanton resigned.
