Three local students were recently recognized for winning the 2023 Clayton County Water Environment Research Awards.
Makayla Pena, Aaliyah Josue and Kyleigh Conley were recently at a CCWA Board of Directors meeting for their water-related science fair projects.
McGarrah Elementary fourth-graders Aaliyah Josue and Makayla Pena were recognized for their project entitled, “Why is Water Filtration Important?” where they learned about a major process in water treatment.
Elite Scholars Academy sophomore Kyleigh Conley was recognized for her project entitled, “The Effects of Water Locations on Dissolved Oxygen Levels” in which she tested bodies of water in a constructed wetland and a nature preserve.
