The Mundy’s Mill Film & Media Program won Best in Show in the High School Division of the recent Jacksonville State University 2023 Student Film Festival.
Select students, under the instruction of School Magnet Lead Charity Jordan, participated in the regional film festival, which focused on the work of college and high school filmmakers in Alabama, Tennessee, and Georgia.
Mundy’s Mill students placed as semifinalists, finalists, and then top honor as Best in Show.
JSU Theatre and Film hosted the event as part of the JSU Kaleidoscope Festival of the Arts. The festival had nearly 70 entries.
Students were joined remotely by special guests John Simmons, ASC, and independent filmmaker Zanah Thirius.
The screening included a special showing of Thirius’ film “The Love You Want Exists.”
