The doggy social event of the season is happening April 28 in Midtown Atlanta. Midtown Alliance’s second annual Midtown Mutt Gala – a playful riff on the stylish Met Gala – will bring hundreds of Atlantans together in the heart of their city to enjoy food, music and costumed canines strutting their stuff on the red carpet.
The outdoor event is free for spectators, with a small fee to enter the costume contest.
Join in on the fun with or without a dog. RSVP at MidtownATL.com/MuttGala. Fashionable attire is encouraged but not required. There’s also a neat, fenced-in dog park at the edge of the venue for dogs and their humans to meet up and play.
Know anyone with a haute dog that likes to dress up and slay the runway?
Registration is open for competitors in the juried doggy costume contest. The deadline to sign up is April 25. Midtown Alliance will not be able to accept any walk-up contestants on the day of the event. Please forward this story to your friends and encourage them to enter their fierce, four-legged fashionista in the competition.
Prizes Galore.
The overall winner will receive a $100 gift certificate at Piedmont Bark and a one-year membership at Fetch Park (valued at $275). Winners will also receive prize packages from For the Culture Pet, K+C Pastries, Salvation Bark and other local doggie vendors.
Give it up for the 2024 Mutt Gala emcee and celebrity judges!
Drag superstar Brigitte Bidet will emcee the costume competition and will be joined by celebrity judges including professional roller skater Josh Sutton aka “The RollerGay”, fashion designer and tailor to the stars Fhonia Ellis, along with Fetch Park founder and CEO Stephen Och.
