JONESBORO — Arts Clayton recently announced its new leadership team — including interim executive director and executive committee members.
“As we celebrate this rich legacy of artistry made possible by our generous donors, Arts Clayton proudly announces its visionary new leadership team, poised to foster a thriving, creative community that engages all citizens of the county and region in the arts,” a press release from Arts Clayton read.

Kaysie Lazarro, interim executive director
Originally from New Orleans, Lazarro has taken on several leadership roles in the community such as president of her homeowners’ association, an educator at First Baptist-Jonesboro, executive director at Make-It Village and owner of Lazzaro Pepper Company.
She also serves as a council member for the Redefine Atlanta Grant Advisory and holds positions on two school councils.
“Kaysie’s zest for adventure and all things whimsical, combined with her passion for gardening and spicy delights, render her a captivating personality,” a statement from Arts Clayton read. “Her commitment to effecting positive change and her ability to leave a lasting impact wherever she treads make her a truly remarkable individual.”
Hynes is president emeritus of Clayton State University, where he served for 12 years in that role.
“His unwavering dedication to arts advocacy and community engagement aligns seamlessly with Arts Clayton’s mission, embodying a vision of artistic empowerment and cultural unity,” Arts Clayton stated in a recent press release.
Among other activities, he currently serves on theAtlanta Track Club Board of Directors, the Clayton County Development Authority Board, emeritus member of the Walter and Emilee Spivey Foundation and Circle Member of the High Museum.
