U.S. Rep. Andrew Clyde is blasting U.S. Postal Service officials over issues at the new Regional Processing and Distribution Center in Palmetto that have caused delays in mail delivery, and calling for an investigation into how the delays happened.
Clyde, R-Ga., has asked USPS Inspector General Tammy Hull to conduct an audit and investigation into the agency’s consolidation of local processing and distribution centers across north Georgia into the new Palmetto facility. In the letter, the congressman said calls and emails to his office from constituents complaining about mail-related issues has increased by nearly 90% since the consolidated facility opened on Feb. 24.
