JONESBORO — Rex Mill Middle School sixth-grader Mekhi Bashir recently won the Global Citizen Scholarship by the Educational First (EF) Global Classroom Foundation.
This esteemed scholarship, bestowed upon only up to 100 students across the nation each year, recognizes Bashir’s exceptional commitment to global learning and understanding.
As a recipient of the Global Citizen Scholarship, he will embark on an enriching educational journey to Japan in the summer of 2024, accompanied by the CCPS World Languages Department and fellow student travelers as part of the CCPS Travels Program.
“This immersive experience will offer Mekhi invaluable opportunities to broaden his horizons and deepen his understanding of different cultures, enhancing his global awareness and fostering personal growth,” a statement from CCPS read.
