JONESBORO — Seven Clayton County schools were recently named as 2024 Advanced Placement Honor Schools.
As announced recently by State Superintendent Richard Woods, 2024 AP Honor Schools are named in eight categories based on the results of 2023 AP courses and exams.
Elite Scholars Academy was named in four categories, Stilwell School of the Arts in three while Forest Park High School two.
Earning a place in one category were Drew, Lovejoy, Morrow and Mundy’s Mill high schools.
“Everyone at these high schools — from the students and teachers to support staff, leadership and community — have been committed to the continued implementation of our Advanced Placement initiative,” Clayton County School Superintendent Anthony Smith said. “The expansion of our efforts involving all students in more rigorous instruction remains a critical element in our commitment to higher expectations for our student and staff.”
Elite Scholars was named in the following categories — 2024 AP Access and Support Schools, 2024 AP Challenge Schools, 2024 AP Expansion Schools and AP Schools of Distinction.
Stilwell was named in the 2024 AP Access and Support Schools, 2024 AP Humanities Schools and 2024 AP Expansion Schools categories.
Forest Park was named in the 2024 AP Humanities in Schools and 2024 STEM Schools categories.
Morrow was named in the 2024 AP Access and Support Schools category.
Drew, Lovejoy and Mundy’s Mill were named to the 2024 AP STEM Schools category.
