Mayor Andre Dickens and Atlanta Urban Development Corporation (AUD) announced the release of a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) seeking development partners for the redevelopment of Thomasville Heights in southeast Atlanta. Phase I of the development is a 7.86-acre parcel fronting McDonough Boulevard, between Welch Street and Moreland Avenue. AUD envisions the development as one that prioritizes the provision of family housing and is expected to include a mix of detached single-family residential and townhomes, with some mix of rental and homeownership units, and affordable and market-rate housing.
The Thomasville Heights redevelopment project is an important early component of a multiphase, multiyear comprehensive neighborhood revitalization initiative led by community members, and supported by the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta (CFGA), Atlanta Housing, MARTA, Invest Atlanta, Atlanta Public Schools, Focused Community Strategies (FCS), United Way, Park Pride, PATH Foundation, and Career Rise, among others.

This development will bring more affordability and equity to Southeast Atlanta and create a pathway back for former Forest Cove residents while ensuring they have the safe and secure housing they deserve. Thank you to everyone involved in this group project and I look forward to this once again being a vibrant, flourishing area of our city,” said Mayor Dickens.
The RFQ went live on March 14, 2024, on the AUD website (atlurbdevco.com), and respondents should return submittals by Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at 11:59 PM ET by emailing completed packages to [email protected].
