Brookhaven Cherry Blossom Festival launched in 2015 when the late District 1 Councilwoman and former Mayor Rebecca Chase Williams held road races, arts and crafts, a pet parade and performances by The Coasters and The Drifters.
Over the last nine years, the festival weekend has attracted around up to 40,000 people from near and far. The Revivalists, Better Than Ezra, Rick Springfield, and Collective Soul have played at Brookhaven Cherry Blossom Festival.
This year’s event is featuring some longtime favorites: an artist market, kids zone, pet world, a classic car show, and food trucks.
City staff is encouraging attendees to use ride sharing, walk, or bike to the event. Shuttle buses will be running from the Chamblee MARTA station. Festival parking will not be available at local schools or shopping centers. Visit the festival website for up-to-date information.
The festival 5k race benefits Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. The event is a pre-qualifier for the Peachtree Road Race, and already nearly 500 runners have signed up. Register here.
